Laura-Therese Cros was born to Antoine-Hippolyte and Leonilla Cros on December 22, 1856. She was married to Louis Marie Bernard and the couple had three children: Etienne, Jacques-Antoine and Andre. As the only child of King Antoine II, Laura-Therese became Queen of Araucania and Patagonia upon the death of her father on November 1, 1903. The queen died February 12, 1916.The Royal Order of Queen Laure-Therese was created by Prince Philippe and is reserved for women.
