Certain questions come up again and again in answering the mail sent to the North American Araucanian Royalist Society. Here are a few of the most frequent questions.
Q1. Is the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia a micronation?
A1. No. The Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia was a short-lived historical reality which failed to receive recognition from any other state. You might compare the kingdom with the Confederate States of America (1861-1865) or the Republic of Biafra (1967-1970), two briefly-existing states which also failed to be recognized by any other country.
Q2. Can I become a citizen of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia?
A2. No. Firstly, because kingdoms have "subjects" and not "citizens," and secondly, because the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia no longer exists.
Q3. Can I buy a title of nobility or an order of knighthood?
A3. No. While there continue to be Araucanian noble titles and orders of knighthood, these cannot be purchased. On rare occasions, they are awarded by the Royal House to individuals who have labored on behalf of the Mapuche people and the Royal House.
Q4. What are the Royaume de Patagonie and the Consulat du Patagonie?
A4. These are parts of a internet-based micronation project originated by French novelist Jean Raspail. This fantasy project takes its inspiration from King Orelie-Antoine I. This group has lots of fun with things like the Royal Patagonian Wine Institute, the Royal Patagonian Yacht Club, and the Royal Patagonian Ping-Pong Club. They also produce a very nice journal called the BLAP. Jean Raspail, consul général de Patagonie, is a very fine writer, but has no connection with Prince Philippe or the Royal House of Araucania and Patagonia.

A5. Stanislas Parvulesco is the son of Constantin Parvulesco, a former knight of the Order of the Star of the South. On June 22, 2014, at a secret meeting in Tourtoirac, France, Constantin Parvulesco and Franz Quatreboeufs, also a former knight of the Order of the Star of the South, repudiated the actions of the Regency Council, declared the throne of Araucanian vacant, and proclaimed Stanislas to be the Prince of Araucania. No other individuals associated with Royal House, the Council of the Kingdom or the Council of the State have supported the claim of Stanislas. For their actions, Prince Antoine IV stripped Constantin Parvulesco and Franz Quatreboeufs of all Araucanian orders and distinctions.

A5. Frédéric Luz, Baron of La Union, was elected as Prince of Araucania by the Regency Council meeting in Paris on March 24, 2018. Under the terms of the constitution of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia operating at the time of the death of Prince Antoine IV, the monarchy is fully elective, with the election falling to the Regency Council, which is composed of the Prince or Princess Regent plus the members of the Council of State and the Council of the Kingdom.
